Bespoke Finishes
In an example project the choice of cross grained veneers in walnut and smoked eucalyptus, provides a technical challenge to the doorset manufacturer in many ways. The walnut veneer must match the solid walnut for the frames, a task made more difficult due to the different areas of the felled log which produce the varying materials. These materials are sourced from different trees of the same species. The smoking process employs a variety of chemical reactions which can also trigger secondary and tertiary chemical reactions in the engineered doorsets.
